Charoite: Transformational Energy
Charoite is a relatively new stone, introduced to the market in the 1970s. It's known as a stone of transformation...of transmuting negative energy into healing. It diminishes stress and revitalizes energy, and can promote restorative sleep. It is also a gemstone of encouragement. It brings improved resourcefulness, spiritual growth, and presents new potentials, especially in old situations. It can improve or carry courage, personal strength, and suitable assertiveness.
Chaorite is named for the Charo River in the Sakha Republic, Siberia, Russia; the only locale in which it is found. It is a very rare mineral that occurs where a syenite massif has entered and altered limestone deposits. First found 325 miles north of the tip of Lake Baikal in the 1940s and locally called “lilac stone,” this gem was introduced to the Western gemstone marketplace as Charoite in the 1970s.
Its distinctive purple color makes it a highly sought-after precious gem and has been widely used in the creation and encrustation of jewelry and everyday items.
